The Taper baby is now on display.
Baby tapir at the Palm Beach Zoo
I had both my time at the commissary cutting vegetables and fruits, as well as docent training. This training was about interpretation. How to talk to your audience in an appropriate and effective way depending on their age and maturity.
It was very interesting, I've had a lot of interpretation training at the zoo, but not illustrated in this manner. They also did role playing, which is always funny when a grown man plays a small child.

Our trip to Lion Country Safari
Another really fun place is Lion Country Safari. My cousin Nancy's family came in from NJ so we went there. It was great fun taking the drive through safari and then they have the amusement park part. There we fed canaries and giraffes and went to a petting zoo. We also went on many rides which included boats and a camel ride. We also played miniture golf. Its a great day and I would recommend it to anyone.

Playing with dolphns at Miami Seaquarium
Since we have moved to Florida in July, we have done a lot of fun things. One of the highlights was swmming with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium. They let you feed, pet, kiss and then ride the dolphin around the pool. I would recommend this for anyone, altthough it is a little pricey, but a once in a lifetime experience. The Miami Seaquarium also had a lot of other great shows and exhibits, we really had a nice day there. Then we went out to dinner with my Aunt Ann and Uncle Lou and that was fun too!

Still talking about the Palm Beach Zoo
Answers to last blog questions
Carnivore-meat eater
Herbivore-plant eater
Omnivore-eats both meat and vegetables
Dimophism- means the male and females of the species look different example a peacock and a peahen, he is brightly covered and has long beautiful tail feathers to impress the ladies. The peahen has to sit on the nest so can not be so conspicuous.

to the Palm Beach Zoo
Since I have last blogged, I have been to the zoo twice, once for Docent training and once for volunteer orientation. At the training we covered taxonomy of animals, which is just the scientific clasification of animals. You know Kingdom, Phyllum,Class,Order, Family,Genius and Species. Thank god we did not get heavily into that. We did go over terminology.
Vertebre- has a spine
